Muncy Threaded Studs Have Special Steel for SwagingMuncy’s threaded studs are made from a grade of carbon steel specially for swaging. Made from domestic steel, you can be assured of the quality that is associated with Made In USA.
All Muncy™ Machine and Tool fittings are machined from carbon steel specially selected for swaging. Aluminum and stainless steel available upon request.
Note: Sizes for large diameter ropes can be supplied. All Studs supplied without wrench grips unless requested. Right hand N.C. threads supplied unless otherwise specified.
Uses of Muncy Threaded Studs
Threaded studs allow for tensioning of an assembly in the field. As such, many OEMs incorporate threaded studs for the flexibility, as cable assemblies may elongate during its proper use. Fences, structural and architectural applications are common for studs. Muncy takes great care to make sure any surface coatings do not render the threads impassable by a nut or washer.

CAUTION
Standard Threaded Studs are recommended for use on 6 x 19 or 6 x 37 IWRC regular lay ropes. They are also satisfactory on galvanized bridge rope. Before using studs with any other type lay, construction, or grade of wire rope, it is recommended that the termination be proofloaded to prove the adequacy of the assembly.
