Newco's Towing Thimbles for Synthetic Ropes
Newco's Towing Thimbles are made in the USA from steel, then hot dip galvanized for corrosion resistance. Our thimbles are designed for various constructions of synthetic ropes. When the thimble was designed, nylon, polyester, polypropelene and manila ropes were the main ropes used. Today's High Molecular Polyethelene (HMPE) ropes are much stronger and continue to get stronger. Our thimble's strength was not designed for these new stronger ropes, but are used to protect the rope and made to fit certain hook-ups to the rope.
