Muncy™ Heavy Hex & Heavy Hex Jam Nuts

Muncy manufactures heavy hex and jam nuts for 1.75” and larger threads. Manufactured within ASTM A specifications, Muncy can offer various surface finishes to the nuts, including galvanized and plated. Muncy taps the nuts slightly oversized to compensate for the surface coating that adds a slight thickness to the threaded portion of the fastener.

How Heavy Hex and Heavy Jam Nuts are used togther

Heavy Hex Nuts are slightly larger and thicker than standard hex nuts. Heavy jam nuts are thinner than a standard heavy hex nut, but have similar dimensions across the flats and corners. A heavy hex jam nut can be threaded on the bolt or threaded stud tight up against the standard hex nut, which will further lock the heavy hex nut in place.
