Stainless Steel Open Swage Sockets

Upson-Walton's Stainless Open Swage Sockets

Upson-Walton, by Muncy, manufactures open swage sockets in 304 stainless. Our stainless is very comparable to our carbon steel dimensions, with the same pin diameters, jaw opening and after swage diameter on the shank, using the same dies. Our Made In USA sockets have a notably better aesthetics and look than other stainless sockets, which can translate to ours sockets having better quality, swageability, consistency and support.

Stainless Steel Swage Socket applications

Muncy's stainless swage sockets are used in variety of applications. Our sockets are used on both stainless and carbon steel approved ropes. The allure of stainless is both in better corrosion resistance and look. That makes our sockets ideal in marine applications, food, utility and architectural applications. The socket, or sometimes called "clevis" or "jaw", has many options for its use, as the pin can go through our closed swage sockets, shackles, eyes and custom made lifting or holding points.

Stainless Steel Rusting

Don't forget to wipe the socket shank down or even brush it with a stainless steel brush or pad after swaging, as the contact of the carbon steel alloy die may be enough to allow a light layer of rust over time on the shank. Most do not have stainless dies, so the carbon steel die can create an issue that is easily resolved.
